Below are my priorities and the reasons I’m running for Cary Town Council.
Strengthen our Natural Environment
Bella is deeply passionate about the local and global environment, motivated by the legacy she wants to leave for her four children. Her environmental initiatives include:
-
Building Clean Energy Infrastructure: Having installed solar panels at her home and business, Bella wants to explore opportunities to equip town facilities with solar panels through potential corporate sponsorships and federal or state grants to minimize costs for citizens. Bella advocates for more electric vehicle charging stations in Cary, promoting the adoption of clean energy.
-
Strengthening Environmental Programs: She supports expanding initiatives like Cary’s "My Tree, Our Tree" program to plant more trees and enhance green spaces. The Cary Composts program is off to a great start working alongside the community farm. In addition, Bella would like to expand bus service in more locations in Cary so more citizens can take advantage of this environmentally-friendly transportation option.
-
Promoting a Bikeable and Walkable Community: Bella aims to improve District C’s infrastructure, advocating on council to connect greenways and sidewalks, making it more accessible and safe for biking and walking.

Building Strong Communities
As a small business owner, Bella understands the challenges faced by the business community and residents in Cary. She understands that a lot of families are struggling in her community. She would like to take a long-term approach to help local Cary citizens. Her economic strategies focus on:
-
A Cary for Everyone - Addressing Rising Living Costs: Recognizing the financial struggles of many families, she supports partnerships with nonprofits like The Carying Place, offering scholarships and volunteer-based support to help families improve their life and budgeting skills.
-
Leveraging Town Facilities: Bella proposes that the town invest in current Town-owned facilities to support larger community initiatives and partnerships. Bella would like to expand programming in facilities for senior citizens, children, and teens. She acknowledges the lack of activities for older children and teens, proposing more programming and track-out camp opportunities for children from fourth grade through age 18 to support working parents and engage youth in constructive activities.
-
Creating a Business Friendly Environment: Bella is interested in attracting and retaining local businesses run by Cary citizens. Employees who live closer to their organization have a better work/life balance. Bella will be the fourth person to join Cary Town Council who is supportive of more affordable housing for Cary’s teachers, emergency responders, retail workers, and senior citizens.
Creating a Vibrant Town for Families
As a mom, Bella sees the lack of opportunities for youth in our community for leadership opportunities. In addition, most parks and programs are focused on children younger than fourth grade. She has met with families, including seniors in District C and after listening to what was important to them, her initiatives include:
-
Continue to Expand the Family Friendly Atmosphere: Bellas has spoken to several groups of senior citizens who would like more senior centers in Cary. Bella supports the planned South Hills development that will include a Senior Center with an active living lounge, teaching and catering kitchen, and multipurpose rooms.
-
Promote Civic Engagement with Teens: Bella wants to invite high school students to participate in Cary’s boards, commissions, and committees, recognizing their fresh ideas and potential to shape the community’s future.
-
Cary has public service academy now, we can add this.(don’t include this now)
